Volunteers are the backbone of The Marathon. Without our passionate and hardworking volunteers, the AuSable River Canoe Marathon would not exist. The Organizing Committee, with teams based in Grayling and Oscoda, work year round to plan this world class event. During race week, more than 200 individual volunteers contribute to The Marathon effort. The needs are many and varied. Examples include merchandise sales, sign and barrier installation, security, race timers, etc. In addition to race week or day-of-the race support, there are volunteer needs for periodic year round projects, fundraising and associated events. More volunteer support for this great and growing event is always welcome.
